28 December 2010 2 comments

Customizable Quick Restore Point Maker has got a new UI with some changes. A setup file is also available which adds Create System Restore Point to your right click context menu. Details below!

Normally, to create a system restore point, you have to, via the Control Panel, open the System Protection box and then open the System Restore utility (rstrui.exe) to create a restore point.

Quick Restore Maker allows you to create one in a single click. The restore point so generated is named as ‘QuickRestoreMaker Generated‘ point.

Simply download and extract the content on the zip file and place the program folder in your Program Files folder and  the shortcut of its exe file to your Start Menu.

Now anytime you are trying out a new software or are tweaking your system, click on the icon to create a restore point first.

It supports the top 11 email clients such as MS Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape Messenger, IncrediMail and others.
It supports the most popular browsers.

Some of the reasons to do backups: In case virus infects your computer, software failures, or power outages can destroy the data on your hard drives. You can just use Amic email Backup to create a compressed backup copy of your email data and store it in a safe place. After a crash or a format, simply restore the backup and your data will be back in no time!
This is where Amic Email Backup comes to rescue, it allows the home and small business computer user to save the email folders and settings easily, either manually or with the automated wizard, at scheduled intervals. This eliminates the need for an unnecessary complex and expensive backup software.

The software is very easy and intuitive to use, has two working modes, a Wizard mode and a standard mode.
The Schedule feature allows you to backup the email database daily, weekly or at any pre determined time frame. The email database can be saved on one computer and restored to another, thus making Amic Email Backup not just a backup utility but also a synchronization tool.

FBackup

FBackup is a free backup software for both personal and commercial use. It protects your important data by backing it up automatically to any USB/Firewire device, local or network location. The backed up data can be either compressed (using standard zip compression) or an exact copy of the original files.

FBackup runs on Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000 and 2008/2003/2000 Server.

FBackup has a simple interface and guides you through the process of defining a backup job using a friendly wizard that asks you:

  1. Where do you want to store the backup (the destination).
  2. What do you want to backup (the sources).
  3. How do you want to run the backup (using full backup that zips the files, or mirror backup that doesn’t zip them).
  4. When do you want to run the backup (you can schedule it to run autmatically or run it manually).

Once a backup job is defined you can run it manually by pressing the Backup button (or F6), or if you added a scheduler it will run automatically. FBackup can easily back up sources from local drives (including USB connected drives) to destinations such as USB/Firewire connected devices or mapped network locations. It creates either standard zip files (when using the full backup type), or exact copies of the original sources without any compression (using the mirror backup type).
