more
The “more” command displays files, one screen at a time
Syntax :
more filename1 [filename2 … ]

Example:
$ more Rational.log

tail
The “tail” command displays the end of a file
Syntax:
tail [-n] [filename … ]    Default last 10 lines
tail -f [filename … ]       it’s used to monitor the growth of a file that is being written by another process

Example:
$ tail -14  Rational.log

          End of command output.

WARNING:

**** above output from the “/opt/rational/clearcase/etc/clearcase” script for
**** information on the problem.

head
The “head” command displays the beginning of a file
Syntax:
head [-n] [filename … ] Default first 10 lines

Example:
$ head -14  Rational.log
